Beyonce has announced that she will be taking more time off from music making in 2010. Because that sounds like a terrible and exhausting life, making millions of $$$ writing songs. Better take a break.
It's actually good though, because I can't remember the last time a Beyonce song really got my blood going... Crazy in Love maybe? To me, "Single Ladies" was really more annoying than catchy. It's a song that truly does belong in the Squeakuel.
Then the telephone song with Gaga, and the crappy "say it in a love song" thing with Alicia Keys... do you have to shit on their careers also? Is that what being a Diva is?
I think Kanye cursed her. That Alicia Keys collaboration in particular is garbage...
Say you love me, Say you love me
Then put it in a love song (Put it in a love song)
Say you need me, Say you need me
Then write it in a letter for me (Oh oh oh)
Say you want me, Say you want me
Then text me on the cell phone (Text me on my cell phone)
Say you love me, Say you love me
Then put me in a love song (Oh)
Then put it in a love song (Put it in a love song)
Say you need me, Say you need me
Then write it in a letter for me (Oh oh oh)
Say you want me, Say you want me
Then text me on the cell phone (Text me on my cell phone)
Say you love me, Say you love me
Then put me in a love song (Oh)
This is astonishingly bad. Who are these strangely needy, high maintenance women? Thanks Beyonce... way to put your best foot forward (and women back, 40 years). I have highlighted the most offensive portion of the chorus. And don't expect the musical aspect to save things. The beat in the background is an awkward combination of a military march and a child's piano lesson.
Basically: move over Beyonce, this is the era of Gaga.
In other news, if you have my Iowa hat, or "know where it is," you should return it sooner, rather than later. Currently my desire for the hat outweighs my desire for revenge.
