When the famous Rolling Stone (machineguntits) article debuted, there was an initial outburst of controversy regarding Lady Gaga's productions, that many of them were ripped off from her Ex-Boyfriend (this goon).
I ask you all to step outside of the box and imagine this crazy, impossible, nigh ridiculous scenario.
She was trying to work in the studio with her lover -- a budding musician with strong ideas, but unpracticed who was struggling to be heard and accepted. He would contribute underdeveloped ideas in the studio. You do him the favor of making his ideas work, and you would show him your take on the idea and he would object "no it sounds stupid!". After a painful and stupid breakup all about his ego, you decide to use your versions of his ideas just to prove how awesome you are. Each one becomes a symbol of real, non-glamorized girl power. Your legitimate, and oh so hot talent, overpowering everything about his struggling, self-obsessed misogyny. Nothing about him being male makes him better at music than you. You have the good ideas, because you earned them. Give him hell, girl.
Then, once your tracks succeed, he sues you. In court. "She stole my good idea."
Lady Gaga remains gracious and polite against this pure affront to modern dignity, and decides to stay away from drama. "He was a big part of my life when those tracks were written, and his influence is all over the album, but I don't know how to monetize that" was her message, more or less. Kind of another "go girl" big-of-her moment.
Not that he deserved any of this. He doesn't even deserve the opportunities he had to hear her in the studio. A musical force that will affect all our lives, and tell the nation to not hate gays, and gays to believe in themselves. One who made futuristic sensual pop music and dressed outrageously. Her performances were half electro circus and have TLC 'red light special' and all outlandish. He didn't deserve the chance to work with her early career. I wouldn't be surprised if you never hear his "good ideas" played out anywhere or succeeding in any setting throughout your life.
Bro-dude, sorry You decided to stop going out with the hottest and most talented 24 year old woman in the world. Taking her money publicly (by redressing the truth to look better for you) doesn't make it look cooler that you had sex with her. Sorry, bra, girls are complicated.
